At the beach

This is my granddaughter Riley. She loves the ocean.

I guess I don't have to tell you that. The picture, taken by my daughter Shannon, tells it all.

Did the old man jump in too? No, it was too cold for him. What a wimp.

Cloud play

One of the natural glories last week was dramatic skies.

Of  the three shots I took here, two put the clouds in the environment of North Street as it runs past Pontoosuc Lake in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

The bottom shot concentrates on the clouds alone.

There is truth, I think, in looking at the sky both ways.

One more thing. It was wonderful to see the sun again. Of the last 30 days, we must have had rain on 26.
